Selvan has 16 years of IT related experience in building software solutions, architecting and application integration. A senior leader with core expertise in product development & delivery with organization development responsibilities, Kalaiselvan is experienced in product development, product strategy and technology road-map. He has led multiple cross distributed product teams to deliver through rapid iterations (Agile), build prototypes to conceptualize the idea to market the product (product life cycle). Kalaiselvan owns internal product strategy and development, Architecture services; Cloud based IT services in Smart Energy (OpenADR) and is responsible for Cloud Strategy, Product Re-Engineering and Migration to Cloud, enabling SaaS solution development & offering cloud services in AWS, Azure, Google AppEngine at Mindteck. Selvan has worked with companies such as Sabre and IBM before coming onboard Mindteck .He has completed his M.S in Software Systems from Bits Pilani and possesses a Certificate of Global Business Leadership (CGBL) from Harvard.

Ask any Architect – which is the most intricate problem in the enterprise to deal with, and he would say without blinking - its the integration of application/ components that are diverse in language runtime, and varying data format. Its always a biggest challenge for any architect to build an approach that could easily amalgamate the solutions for performance, reliability and scalability there could be multiple solutions through which an enterprise architect could easily depend on what he deals with. The possible list of solutions could be from JCA, JMS and Web services etc.

So, how this happens in the cloud area? Is this simple or complex than SOA? Or Cloud solves easily SOA challenges?
Its actually a growing question: The Cloud and SOA together solve this integration problem. SOA is an enterprise architecture framework to exchange information across the enterprise through a common bus which is responsible for transformation, integration, and exchange etc. Cloud is meant for scalability, on demand solutions accessible over the internet.

SOA plays a imperative role while building a Cloud strategy for an enterprise - both in terms of migrating existing solution within the enterprise (on-premises) to cloud or if one plans to build a new solution on Cloud (off-premises). Its more challenging for an Architect (read them hereafter Cloud Architect) to determine the approach to identify the solutions that needed to integrate with the enterprise solutions on premises. Indeed, called Cloud Integrations.

There are products gaining momentum in the market which basically simplifies and ensures the shorter migration path (to do away from doing everything from scratch that most of the developers do argue today). But these tools promise that cloud integrations very simplified through workflow based approach that provides connectors to connect with any other larger business critical applications like ERP or SAP or on the cloud or within the enterprise.
